SUPPORTING SURVIVORS

LIVING IN POVERTY IN THE U.S.

The Need

Tens of Thousands of Holocaust survivors in the United States are living below the national poverty line of $11,170/yr.

These survivors struggle to get by from month to month on meager assistance that does not fully cover the cost of food, heat, rent, doctors' visits and medication.

The Mission

Survivor Initiative is a volunteer-led national effort that reaches across generations to raise awareness and funds for Holocaust survivors living in poverty.

We make grants to strengthen the capacity of the local agencies that care for poor, frail, and vulnerable Holocaust survivors with complex bio-psycho-social needs.

The Hope
With your help we can assure that survivors live their remaining years with the dignity and comfort they deserve.

NY CITY COUNCIL EFFORTS

The Survivor Initiative’s campaigns have helped secure over $1.5M a year in funding from NY City Council!
